As part of the Industrial Innovation Support Programme, financed by the Innovation Support Fund, the Green H2 Cluster has been accredited by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and has signed a programme contract with the State for the period 2024-2028. On 22 December 2023, a signing ceremony was organised by the Ministry in the presence of Minister Ryad Mezzour, the President of the CGEM, Chakib Alj, and the President of the Green H2 Cluster, Mohammed Yahya Zniber. The H2 Morocco Cluster was born of the desire to put into practice the Royal High Directions aimed at making Morocco a pioneer in the energy transition. Its aim is to encourage the transfer of know-how through innovative collaborative projects bringing together manufacturers, researchers and public and private players in Morocco and abroad. The aim is to encourage innovation and contribute to the emergence of a competitive hydrogen industry. The Cluster is committed to stimulating the emergence of ideas, helping to set up projects, monitoring and supporting them, and promoting their results. It also aims to build the capacity of local players in the production, development and marketing of hydrogen, both on the national and international markets. In addition, the Cluster aims to strengthen the position of national companies in the hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives value chain, and to exploit the results of collaborative projects to bring them as close to the market as possible. This programme contract defines the obligations of the State and the Green H2 Cluster to encourage the emergence of innovative collaborative projects in the field of green hydrogen. In particular, it concerns uses and technologies, the transfer of skills and know-how to Moroccan players in the sector, the development of start-ups, the promotion of the sector internationally, support for public policies in this area, and the contribution to the development of the domestic green hydrogen market.
